What is "The Senior Experience?"

This is one of the most exciting times of your life & why not showcase it.  The senior experience is built around understanding who you are, and where you are going for the next chapter in life.

Let us capture your style & personality, like only we can in a fun, relaxed atmosphere where you can be yourself and we can capture that essence with multiple locations that have special meaning to you.

At the end of our time together, you and your family will have beautiful, timeless images as well as memories that will last a lifetime.

  • Step 1 - Pre Consultation
Once we have booked the session, we need to have a conversation about what you are looking for in the photographs. There are a lot of options, and while we can accommodate most any style and desired look, and we will cover that in this conversation. It is during this pre-session consultation that we will cover things like wardrobe, location, style, the overall 'look and feel' of the photographs, as well as what is most important: where will these photographs be displayed? In your home, office, etc With technology today, we will show you how these photographs will look in your home, before your invest in the wall art images. Beginning with the end in mind will help us work backward into creating a wonderful experience without surprises and lets everyone enjoy the session instead of worrying about 'whats going to happen next...'.
  • Step 2 - Day of Shoot
Now is the easy part... With our pre-planning complete, everyone knows what is going to happen next and there is no scrambling around at the last minute so we can focus on relaxing and enjoying our photo session without the worrying about what to do. Don't worry if this is your first time in front of the camera - we will be there to direct and guide you through the session to capture the most natural looks. (even some 'off guard' moments that clients love so much...)
  • Step 3 - Behind the Scenes
With the session behind us, the behind the scenes magic begins. We will narrow down the images from our time together in an effort to simplify the selection process. Then, we will also showcase some of the photos in the style we discussed and begin to pull together a punch list of images for your review in preparation for "The Big Reveal!"
  • Step 4 - The Big Reveal
Ta-Da! About a week after our session, the photos will be ready for viewing & the fun part begins. During this session, we will get go each image in detail. We will pick up on our earlier conversations, and be able to project your images and how they will look on your walls at home, or in the office! Technology is a great thing! If we haven't already, we will finalize the collection, and start to put your order together. If you still need more time to decide, proofs will be available to take home and make final decisions.
  • Step 5 - Ordering
I have learned over time that it is actually tougher for families to decide on an order with online galleries. Agonizing over proofs only makes the process more difficult. An in-person View and Order Session will give you a sense of accomplishment and help get the decisions done soon after your session, and you’ll enjoy your finished portraits quicker, and we will be here to help you every step of the way!.
  • Step 6 - Delivery Day!
Finally, the photo's have arrived! This is my favorite part of the process. The look on clients faces when they see the finished product is priceless from my perspective! Depending on your order, this should be about 2 weeks after the final order is placed. Knowing that these will be displayed for generations to come, and that we played a small role in your family gives me goose-bumps.

What are you going to wear?

What to Wear

Well it depends. Here are some things to consider!

Be Yourself!

Start with your own personal style. Think about the clothing styles you currently have and the stores where you normally shop. Wearing clothes that look good on you will ensure meaningful photographs thatare true reflections of who you are as individuals.

Location. Location. Location!

Consider the setting of where your shootwill take place. Will it be at the beach, the park, your home, or somewhere else? Imagine your setting and the types of colors that will be there. Since the setting will end up being the background of your photos, it has a big impact on your overall look. For example, if you plan to have the shoot at a garden, wearingfloral outfits might not be the best idea because you would blend in and get lost in the busy background. Ideally, you want to match the background, but not match so much that you become the background.

Colors

A good rule of thumb is to pick out two colors that would go well with the location. Typically, pastels (think peach, mint, or lavender) go well with natural scenes. Primary colors such as blue, red, and yellow match modern locations like the city.

Solids & Prints

Our eyes are naturally drawn to patterns, so dressing your kids in prints will help them to stand out. Playful prints such as stripes and polka dotslook great on kids. Dress the adults in complementary solids to balance the look.

Layering

Depending on the season, consider layering your outfits with accessories such as bowties, headbands, rain boots, scarves, jackets, and hats. Accessories add variety to your shots and can also double as fun props!
